I loved these women. The sisters are what are commonly called Irish twins and the love between them and their mom Stacey is fully evident. And Fiona's fabulous nails almost made me want to be a teenager again. I said ALMOST. And for some reason I LOVE the last shot, which is not technically great, but I love the feeling of it. A Preschool Thanksgiving
Sam's classroom had a little Thanksgiving lunch today. It was so cute. But Sam cried the whole time and wouldn't let me out of his sight. He never cries at school. It's as if he holds it together all day until he sees me and then he collapses. But the sight of them all at the table was precious. Holiday Mini Sessions: The Baby
This little angel was such a good sport. It was so cold and so windy and not one complaint from her sweet little lips. Isn't she just the cutest? I wanted to squeeze her and take her home. But then I remembered I already have two at home and the house is full up. But take her photograph? Any day of the week. Bonnie Berry is an Austin based child, family and wedding photographer.
Holiday Mini Sessions: The Simons
I love this family so much. Geni and Kell and their kids were some of the first people we befriended in Austin. Geni brought us a meal right after Sam was born with an Austin Mamas red tent and we have been good friends ever since. It is hard for me to depend on people, but I depend so much on the Simons and they always come through. They are such good people. My Boys LOVE Their Noodles
We are a family of starch eaters. And the boys love no starch more than they love noodles. Bonnie Berry is an Austin based child, family and wedding photographer.
Holiday Mini Sessions: Little James
James also goes to my sons' school and he is a little doll. He was our last session on the first Saturday and mom Katherine had already told me that he is a tad on the shy side, so I said we would take a little more time with him. And it paid off. He is such a great kid. And he must have gotten really used to my camera being in his face because about a week ago I was at the preschool and I put my point and shoot right up to him and he just looked right into the lens. Atta boy James. Bonnie Berry is an Austin based child, family and wedding photographer.
Sam's First Word
And Sam's first word is . . . drumroll please . . . CAR. Yes car. Not mommy. Not daddy. Not Ben or dog. Car. Enough said.
Holiday Mini Sessions: The Girlfriend
No matter how old Ben gets he will always have one first girlfriend and that will always be little Olivia. What a doll she is and her brother Sebastian is quite the charmer too. I love how he takes care of his little sister and how much they seem to genuinely enjoy each other. Bonnie Berry is an Austin based child, family and wedding photographer.
The Visitor
Josh's cousin Vanessa, who lives in NY, was here in Austin for a conference, so she stopped by for a quick visit with our insane family. I always feel so badly when she comes to town because our household is total chaos. We did manage to get her out on the town for a couple of hours and hit a couple of favorite Austin landmarks. First we hit Torchy's for my favorite fried avocado taco, then it was off to Hey Cupcake with a quick stop in between at the 'Greetings from Austin' wall. Holiday Mini Sessions: Flynn's Family
I love all of my clients. But I have to admit that I have a soft spot for those whose kids are classmates of Ben and Sam. Flynn has been in Ben's classroom since the beginning and his smile makes my day. I will walk into school in the morning, frazzled as always, and he will flash me his grin and all my cares melt away. He and his family are all gems and as you can see here, Flynn is not the only one with the million dollar smile. Bonnie Berry is an Austin based child, family and wedding photographer.
A Kid in the Candy Shop | Destination Wedding Photographer
It has been a rough day. Really. Very. Rough. But this has turned it around for me. I had two readers of the blog Offbeat Bride let me know that they found a post about Laurenn and Alex's wedding there. I was tickled pink. It takes so little to please me these days. AND they have even written a book called Offbeat Bride: Taffeta-Free Alternatives for Independent Brides (great title). So thanks Ariel for the post and thanks so much to Rachel and Garnprinzessin for the heads up.
Josh and Erica | Austin Wedding Photographer
I have to start off by apologizing for the fact that I have posted WAY too many photos. But I got so attached to so many of them. The wedding of Erica and Josh was held at the amazing Star Hill Ranch. I second shot for photographer extraordinaire, Shannon Cunningham. See her beautiful photos from the wedding here. It was coordinated by a woman who can juggle way more things than I can, Becky, with the assistance of Lorraine and Sara. The band was to die for. They are called The Fatal Attractions and they played eighties cover songs. If I were getting married again I would book them in a heartbeat. The irony was not lost on me that the bride and groom and their peers thought that this was 'retro' music. The scrumptious cake (I actually had a piece for a change) was done by Michelle's Patisserie and the food was catered by Dagar’s. The beautiful makeup was done by Katie Astoria with Modern Muse Makeup and the amazing flowers were created by Melanie Tipton with Last Petal. And they danced the Horah which is my favorite. It brings me back to being thirteen again. Between that and the music, I think this wedding made me feel ten years younger. Bonnie Berry is an Austin wedding photographer.
Holiday Mini Sessions: Brad, Sharon and Corbin
I love these guys. They are just so darn easy to be around and they make me laugh. Two things to love. Bonnie Berry is an Austin based child, family and wedding photographer.
The Grand Finale | Destination Wedding Photographer
And finally the last installment of the fabulous Las Vegas wedding. A big thanks to Laurenn and Alex for including me in their amazing day. I was honored to be a part of it. And kisses to Alex for finally pulling my camera off my body and saving me from myself. Bonnie Berry is a destination wedding photographer.
Holiday Mini Sessions: Jason, Amy, Lilia and Moose
I am finally starting to blog the first of the mini sessions. I had such a great time doing these. Here is Lilia and her beautiful family. They are always such a pleasure to photograph. Bonnie Berry is an Austin based child, family and wedding photographer.
Birthday Boy
What a busy weekend! I did seven family mini sessions on Saturday morning and then did a wedding with Shannon on Saturday afternoon/evening. I felt like pounded meat by Sunday. On Sunday afternoon we went to Max's fifth birthday party and the boys had a great time. Here are some snaps from the fete. And there was even beer there. Yippee! Vegas Hotel Window
I don't really know why but I just LOVE these photos of Ben and Sam looking out the window. Bonnie Berry is an Austin based child, family and wedding photographer.

Hairspray | Destination Wedding Photographer
Here is part two of the photos from Laurenn and Alex's wedding in Las Vegas. This was the morning of the big day when Laurenn and all of her bridal party had their hair done. They went to this great salon called Curl Up N Dye which had some amazing decor. All of the stylists were great, but I really loved Lety, who did Laurenn's hair and the woman who did Kelly Sue's hair, whose name I regret I cannot remember. And all of their hairdos looked fabulous. Bonnie Berry is a destination wedding photographer.
The Empress Has No Clothes
For years I have not bought any new clothes to speak of, with the exception of sweatpants and tee shirts. I keep waiting to lose the baby weight that I should have lost months and months ago. But I haven't. And now I am tired of looking like I am wearing my pajamas. But every time I go to buy some new clothes I look at the sizes and I just cave. I am unable to bring myself to buy such high numbers. So I don't buy anything.
The sad thing is that every time I wear anything out of the norm Ben asks me "Is that new?" And then he gets all excited as if his mom is FINALLY wearing something nice. I heard David Sedaris on This American Life the other day talk about being at a murder trial and the defendant's mom was wearing cut offs and a tee, which prompted Mr. Sedaris to ask himself exactly what she would consider a dress-up occasion. I laughed, because it was funny. And then I stopped laughing because it cut a bit too close to home. Guess I'd better go shopping.
