It is funny that when we meet and date people we judge whether we like them, if we think they are good looking or funny or if we have the same interests. One thing we often never think about is what kind of parent will this person be or what kind of team the two of us will make when choosing a prospective partner. I thought about that a great deal this weekend when we were busy with birthday parties and whatnot. And it came to me how important it is for Josh and I to function as a well oiled machine. We do not always succeed at this, but we always try. And when he tied the heating pad around my aching arm last night, because I could not do it with only one hand, I realized how much I rely on Josh for the little things, which often feel like big things.
