Twenty five years after I graduated, I still feel so very grateful for my time at UCSC. When my dad was visiting there for the first time my freshman year, he said, "I am paying for you to go to summer camp". He was right. The campus is stunning. I used to walk to my morning class through redwood trees. But it also an amazing educational institution. I had classes that were as small as five people, which for a public university is almost unheard of. And many of our professors were ivy leaguers who ran away from the wintry weather of the East Coast. It felt nice, but strange to be there with Josh and the boys. Definitely two worlds colliding. UCSC is divided into eight colleges, so almost all of these photos are of the one I attended, Cowell. I especially love the shot of the boys and me that Josh took. It was taken at a sculpture on Porter college that we used to call the IUD, for obvious reasons. So it is fitting to have a photograph of myself here with my two children.
