For years I have been wanting to work on a single personal project. I call it "the motherhood project". The project has morphed several times throughout the years, but it has always remained in my head and it has always remained undone, but it has always remained about the same subject—how hard it is to be a mother. Now all you dads out there, I realize being a parent is hard period, but for my project I want to focus on moms. I am not looking to glamorize motherhood. These will not be smiley portraits. They will be my attempt to look at what it is to be a mom and the price we pay as well as the joys it brings us. I am planning on going in to people's homes, for a couple of hours at a time, to photograph slices of their life. It is a purely documentary project and I will shooting it in black and white only.
So why am I telling you all about this? Because I need subjects. If you think you might be interested in participating. please send me an email to thelazygirl[at]gmail[dot]com. All participants will be given digital files of all of the edited images I take of them and their family. This is purely a not for profit, personal project. So if you think you might be interested, please contact me.
