Josh and I have a weekend agreement. He gets to sleep in on Saturday mornings and I get Sunday mornings. Usually I take Ben out of the house and Josh gets to sleep in peace. Sometimes I don't, but Ben just asks where Poppy is and when I say that he is asleep he shrugs his shoulders and goes back to playing. Not so for me. Josh is not a morning person by nature so he never takes Ben out in the mornings. And then Ben cries and cries until he sees that I am indeed in the house. He will go back to playing, but needs to check-in with me regularly, which is not conducive to actual sleeping. After about an hour of this I give up and the three of us go out for breakfast.I do enjoy lying in bed an extra hour and I particularly enjoy listening to Ben and Josh. Usually it sounds like this: "No Ben NO! Come here Ben. Don't touch that. Ben. No. Step away from that. No Ben. Don't climb on that." But there were two lines this morning that are worth repeating. One is when Josh said to Ben "You can play with it, but don't stick it in". This is of course funny only if you can't see what it is they are talking about. The other was when Ben must have been pushing on one of my paintings (which he loves to do) and Josh said "Be careful with the paintings. Art deserves respect. If we had no art, there would be no television, and that would be a tragedy." Amen to that.
