I wanted to procrastinate the other day, so I took my camera back to CDC and shot for a little bit. I love watching these little ones grow. Bonnie Berry is an Austin, Texas child, family and wedding photographer.

Childhood
I took my camera to CDC the other day and took many shots of those amazing kids. Here are a couple I fell in love with. When I started doing portraiture seriously I thought about what I wanted to convey and I decided that I wanted to portray mood and emotion. I was and still am greatly inspired by Colorado photographer Cheryl Jacobs. I took a wonderful workshop from her a couple of years ago. Her work is resplendent. I still think my focus is mood and emotion, but stylistically I am doing it very differently than I had intended. I thought my voice would express itself in out of focus, soft ways, but it actually screams out in sharp, wide photographs. These images are the former (especially the first one) and although I do not think they would ever be indicative of my body of work, I love them just the same. Olivia's Fourth Birthday
It was dear Olivia's birthday party last weekend. A wonderful time was had by all. Here are WAY too many photos. and a final one of the birthday girl: Bonnie Berry is an Austin, Texas child, family and wedding photographer.
An Apple for the Teacher | Austin Commercial Photographer
A couple of months ago I took photos of the teachers at CDC for their new website. I love the teachers there so much. Bonnie Berry is an Austin, Texas child, family and wedding photographer.
Lilia Nostalgia
After posting those shots of Lilia I started to wonder what the first photos I took of her looked like, so I spent the last hour procrastinating and here they are. These were taken last April when she was about 6 months old. I love photographing the kids at CDC, so I can watch them grow right in front of my eyes. Lilia Visits | March 13
I am still trying to get caught up with the photo processing and posting, but I though I would stir things up a bit by posting something on the newer side. Last week little Miss Lilia and her mom Amy visited. We had a great time. I thought Ben would be totally uninterested in Lilia since she is Sam's age, but he was so cute taking care of her and refilling her snack bowl. As you can see he had her eating out of his hand. Change is Hard | Austin Children's Photographer
Thursday was Sam's last day at CDC. I was so glad that Josh took both shifts for the carpool that day. I couldn't bear going there because I was so sad. Luckily Ben will still be there a few days a week, but he will have changes also. He will no longer be at the Hyde Par location in the mornings and afternoons, nor will he take the van with the other kids since we live closer to his campus off Spicewood Springs. This mean no more Olivia for a bit. We are hoping she will be moved up to his classroom as soon as possible. Until then they will have to have playdates in order to share future secrets. Happy Hearts Day
Olivia | Austin Child Photographer
When I was at CDC the other day I snapped a few shots with Miss Olivia, Ben and their old teacher Lynne. Bonnie Berry is an Austin, Texas child, family and wedding photographer.
Those Eyes
Yesterday and today I took photos at Ben and Sam's school for their new website. And oh the cuteness. It is always overwhelming. Like this little angel. Bonnie Berry is an Austin, Texas child, family and wedding photographer.
A Preschool Thanksgiving
Sam's classroom had a little Thanksgiving lunch today. It was so cute. But Sam cried the whole time and wouldn't let me out of his sight. He never cries at school. It's as if he holds it together all day until he sees me and then he collapses. But the sight of them all at the table was precious. Holiday Mini Sessions: The Girlfriend
No matter how old Ben gets he will always have one first girlfriend and that will always be little Olivia. What a doll she is and her brother Sebastian is quite the charmer too. I love how he takes care of his little sister and how much they seem to genuinely enjoy each other. Bonnie Berry is an Austin based child, family and wedding photographer.
Holiday Mini Sessions: Flynn's Family
I love all of my clients. But I have to admit that I have a soft spot for those whose kids are classmates of Ben and Sam. Flynn has been in Ben's classroom since the beginning and his smile makes my day. I will walk into school in the morning, frazzled as always, and he will flash me his grin and all my cares melt away. He and his family are all gems and as you can see here, Flynn is not the only one with the million dollar smile. Bonnie Berry is an Austin based child, family and wedding photographer.
The Birthday Girl
As promised, here are more shots from little Lilia's birthday fete. The second shot, where she is holding the picture frame is of her grandmother, aunt and mother. Her mom Amy is the one on the right, the complete doppelganger of Lilia (they even have the same adorable fountain harido). I also love the last shot where poor Lilia is exhausted and overstimulated and heading for a nap and Sam just looks at her perplexed.
I LOVE School
I love my boys' school. And I love to go there with my camera. Sam's classroom is called the Hummingbirds. This has always been my favorite room at the school, even when neither of my boys were in it. It is just such a great age. And they all look so darn cute running around in their diapers and nothing else. I was procrastinating the other day from doing real work, so I played with the kids and my camera. First I made a quick trip to the Starbursts, which is Ben's room (the first two photos), and then I headed for the good old Hummingbirds. And we all had such fun.
The Next Generation
I just can't get enough of the kids at Ben and Sam's school. So I pulled out my point and shoot and went to town on Friday. This is Ben's girlfriend Olivia whom I LOOOVE. And I also covet her awesome Obama tee. Okay here is where Sam drinks the paint. Yep. He drinks it. What devotion he has to his art.
The Birthday Party Weekend
Ben had not one, but two parties on Saturday. What fun! Here are photos from the one in the morning for three year old Flynn. Annika's in the afternoon had the bad camera fortune of being held after the wedding the I second shot for a couple of hours in the July heat, so I had a migraine and didn't want to touch a camera with a ten foot pole.
A La Prochaine
I hate goodbyes. I am no good at them and I find them painful. One of my favorite French sayings is "a la prochaine" which means "until next time". It makes goodbye so much easier for me. On Friday, Sam got to have a very special day. Two of his school teachers are leaving to go on to new adventures in their lives. We are so sad to see them go, but excited for them and their futures. Zoe and Deborah took Sam and Lillia on a neighborhood adventure. They took them out to breakfast and to the local pool and on many other little excursions. By the time I met up with them the babies looked so tired and SO happy. I asked Zoe and Deborah to let me meet them at the end of the day at the laundromat right by the school so we could take some photos to commemorate their day together. I could tell that they thought I was a little crazy. Who the hell takes pictures in a laundromat? But they quickly warmed to the idea and we had a great time. So here are some of the wonderful Zoe and Deborah and the babies that love them, Sam and Lillia. We will miss you so much Zoe and Deborah and we are looking forward to "la prochaine".
Bambinos
I once again found myself with my camera at the Discovery School and took some more snaps of these little angels. I just can't help myself.
