Wedding in New Braunfels, Texas: Kristin and Zac

A couple of weeks ago I second shot a wedding with San Antonio photographer extraordinaire Amy DeYoung. The bride and groom, Kristin and Zac, were wonderful. They were relaxed and happy, they really seemed to enjoy their day. And the Landmark building, where they held the reception, was a bauhaus dream. Here are some of the shots that I took. I went a little overboard with the details shots, but there were so many great ones that I couldn't hold back. I love the one of the bride's sister, the maid of honor, practicing her speech. I also especially like the one where the ring bearer is making a face during the ceremony and the one where the dad and son are eating and dad is having a salad and the little boy is having a donut. Getting older is not fair. We all should be eating donuts. Bonnie Berry is an Austin based child, family and wedding photographer.

Austin Wedding: Dawn and Matt

On Saturday night I shot a wedding with the fabulous Sarah Quiara at the Driskill Hotel in downtown Austin for the amazing Matt and Dawn. We had a great time and even I couldn't help dancing when they played "Dancing Queen". Once again I was unable to restrain myself and there oh so many photos. One of my favorite moments was when the groomsmen had an impromptu dice game while waiting for us to photograph the women (see photo below). And didn't the bride look resplendent? I'll say. She was a definite ringer for Veronica Lake, but with brown hair.

Austin Wedding: Ryan and Karie

I helped photograph a wonderful Austin wedding on Saturday with the talented Shannon Cunningham. The spot was beautiful and the bride and groom were resplendent. Shannon and I were joined by videographer Cory Ryan of Wild Parrot who was so much fun to work with. The wedding and reception were held at Mercury Hall. It was my first time there and I loved this place. It is small and intimate and has loads of charm. The following post of photos is really long, but I couldn't help myself. I loved so many. One of my favorites is the one of the bride giving her dad his credit card back. Apparently the family has a tradition where all the daughters give back their father's credit card on their wedding day, hence the bride's sad face. The last photo is of Miss Shannon doing her thing. Not only does it show the devotion of a wedding photographer, it also helps explain why I am so darn sore the next day.I am looking to do more weddings in the future, so if you know anyone who is getting married please pass on my name. If they book their wedding with me you will receive a $100 credit with Bonnie Berry Photography, so be sure to have them mention your name, so I can get your gift to you.

Austin Wedding: Mattie and David

On Saturday I second shot the wedding of David and Mattie Parker with the fabulous Heather Thorne from Dallas. Heather did all the heavy lifting. I just showed up for a few hours to lend a hand. It was a beautiful wedding at the picturesque Balcones Springs and was adeptly coordinated by Courtney Rhode. They had the biggest group of groomsmen, ushers etc that I have ever seen. I think there were about 16 of them. Of course the bride and her 9 bridesmaids spent all day getting pretty and the men hung out and watched football until about 5 minutes beforehand when they got dressed. And they still managed to look good.

The Long, Hot Summer

I shot this wedding for a few hours with the fabulous Lisa Woods in the middle of the day in high Austin summer heat. The groom and the groomsmen were such great sports though. And in black suits no less. I had a great time horsing around with them and they were game for just about anything. And even though I only shot for a paltry three hours, I think we got some good stuff.

Lovely Love

I shot this wedding with Shannon Cunningam a few weeks ago. Any of you who know me know that I am a pretty laid back person. I definitely have the part of me that likes pretty and expensive things and likes pomp and circumstance, but I also love things that feel real. And this wedding was so very real. I loved it for its authenticity and honesty. It wasn't trying to be anything other than what it was. And that was splendid.
